PBS and ABC Information had been among the many high winners on the duPont-Columbia Awards, among the high honors accorded annually to audio and video reporting performed within the public curiosity.

The 15 award winners of 2024 had been introduced Thursday throughout a particular ceremony. The awards have been administered since 1968 by Columbia College’s Graduate College of Journalism.

PBS gained three duPont-Columbia Awards: one for brave reporting from Ukraine in “20 Days in Mariupol”; one from Afghanistan in “Afghanistan Undercover” — each in documentaries produced by FRONTLINE, and a thirdfor Ken Burns’ six-hour sequence “The U.S. and the Holocaust” (Florentine Movies/WETA). In the meantime, ABC Information took residence two awards — one for environmental reporting and one for ABC Information Studios’ “Aftershock.”

A jury made up of trade veterans chosen 30 finalists and 15 winners. The pool of entries included conventional nationwide and native information shops from throughout the nation, in addition to streaming and leisure shops.

Different award-winning investigations included “Caught on Digicam, Traced by Telephone: The Russian Army Unit That Killed Dozens in Bucha,” from The New York Occasions.

Two different longform documentaries had been winners, together with Brook Lapping’s “Putin vs the West”; and “Past Utopia” (Excellent Companions).

There have been three award-winning podcasts: “Mom Nation Radicals,” produced by Zayd Ayers Dohrn (Crooked Media); “Bought a Story: How Instructing Youngsters to Learn Went so Improper,” a six-part sequence by Training Reporter Emily Hanford (APM Reviews) and “The thirteenth Step” from New Hampshire Public Radio and Reporter Lauren Chooljian.

5 native information shops had been 2024 duPont-Columbia Award winners. They’re: KVUE TV & The Austin American-Statesman; KXAS-TV;KUSA 9NEWS Denver; New Hampshire Public Radio; and WANF-TV & InvestigateTV, an collaboration of Grey-owned tv stations.
